Plot: Train Heartnet is a former assassin that has turned sweeper after his partner, Creed Diskenth, killed Train's dearest friend, Saya Minatsuki. With his new partner, Sven Vollfied, and infamous female thief, Rinslet Walker, Train goes against Torneo Rudman for the large bounty on the mob boss' head. During this they encounter Eve, a young woman that was a test subject for nanomachines making her a living weapon. After defeating Torneo, Eve joins Sven and Train as a sweeper. During the rest of the series there are many encounters with Creed and his group of terrorists, The Apostles of the Stars, who try to bring about a new world order. After finally defeating Creed, complications arise due to the real reason that Eve was created.
